Unwind and Recharge at MOMS Night Out

At MOMS Club®, we believe it’s essential for moms to take time for themselves every once in a while. It’s so important, every official registered chapter of the International MOMS Club® is required to host at least one moms-only event each month to remind members that self-care is crucial. After all, how can we pour ourselves into our children if our own cups are empty?

A handful of our members had a great time this week at the Jousting Lemur for the January MOMS Night Out! A few of them even ended the night with a little karaoke.

New and Expecting Parent Peer Support Group Begins February 1

Parenting is arguably the toughest job you will ever have, and everyone needs support and encouragement. That’s why we’re helping to spread the word about this new online peer support group for new and expecting parents in North Dakota. (“New parents” can be up to two years postpartum, and it doesn’t need to be your first child!)

The group’s meetings begin next week on February 1 and are hosted by the North Dakota Chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI). Check out their Facebook event for more information.

Warm Up with a Good Book

The weather outside is frightful, but if you’re willing to brave the extreme wind chill for a few minutes, our club’s Little Free Library (#120561) is regularly maintained and stocked with a selection of kids’ books. Take a book, leave a book, or both! Then go back home and snuggle up with the little ones for some cozy story time.

Find the library at 817 Crescent Lane in Bismarck. Happy reading, and stay warm out there!

Supporting Maternal Mental Health

We’re sharing this on behalf of one of our members, who is passionate about this cause:

If anyone is struggling with their mental health related to being a mom, check out the resources from Postpartum Support International. They have online support groups, a peer mentor program, a directory of maternal mental health trained therapists/providers, and other resources.

Find more information at www.postpartum.net/get-help/help-for-moms. If you have any questions, please email us at momsclubbismarck@gmail.com or DM our public Facebook page. Our member is a PSI volunteer.

“You are not alone and you are not to blame. Help is available. You will get better.”

January 2024 Calendar

Happy New Year to our moms and their families! It’s finally starting to feel like a North Dakota winter, which means the challenge to keep cooped-up kids entertained is getting real. That’s where we come in.

MOMS Club® of Bismarck is a group of stay-at-home and part-time working moms around the Bismarck/Mandan/Lincoln area. Our primary goal is to organize play dates to give our members and their kids a chance to get out of the house – and make a few friends in the process.

If you’re a mom looking for your “village” of support and encouragement, please join us at an upcoming event! Shoot an email to momsclubbismarck@gmail.com or DM our public Facebook page to introduce yourself, and we’ll share additional details.
